Here is where you will find information on our club's activities, photo's, results, our club calendar of events and much more. Little athletics is a FUN activity. All children, regardless of ability, are encouraged to participate. Each child is encouraged to improve his/her own personal performances. To do this our Little Athletics Centre provides weekly friendly competition. By joining in these activities and learning how to do all the events correctly your child will have a lot of fun. Little Athletics is a FITNESS activity. From the simple warm up exercises (which precede each meeting) to the actual running, jumping and throwing events, all Little Athletics activities are designed to help improve your child's fitness and wellbeing.
Little Athletics began in 1964 in Geelong, and came to Queensland in 1973. it is now conducted in all states of Australia from Darwin to Hobart, Perth to Cairns, and involves over one hundred thousand boys and girls. In Queensland alone, we have approximately 13,000 members. This Australia wide network is administered by Little Athletics Australia, which acts as a secretariat for the State Associations. The LAA meets annually to determine the policy for the organisation and to distribute funds from our National Sponsors.
In Queensland, our activities are co-ordinated by the Little Athletics Queensland, that is administered by a Board of Management. Centres throughout Queensland are placed in Regions. Beenleigh is in the South East Region, along with Redlands, Browns Plains, Algester, Springwood, Mt Gravatt, Balmoral, Wynnum Manly, Jimboomba and Sunnybank. Regional Championships are held and children are chosen to represent their region in the State Championships.
Beenleigh Little Athletics was formed in September 1981.
